Environmental Science provides an integrated, quantitative and interdisciplinary approach to the study of environmental systems. The rapid growth in urbanization and industrialization, however, has badly disturbed and destroyed the balance of our environment, as a result of which there has been unsustainable growth and development. There is a huge responsibility on the part of the environmentalist or environmental scientists to propose several environment friendly processes of development. In order to protect our environment, research institutes are in the constant process of developing eco-friendly methods or technologies. Opportunity in Environmental Scientists, Post Doctoral Fellow in India and abroad, College/University Professor, Industries, hazardous-waste-management facilities, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). Environmental Science is a broad term that incorporates various activities towards protecting the environment, thus offers plenty of employment opportunities for not only environmental scientists, but also for environmental biologists, environmental engineers, environmental modeling and environmental journalists. Environmental scientists are employed by mines, fertilizer plants, textile and dying industry, food processing units, etc. NGOs are growing in strength in issues related to the environment.
